Why scan my Home Photos?
All photographs fade with time, especially color photos. Even though it is rare, disasters can happen that could destroy ALL your family’s photographs. We know that some of your family’s photographs are IMPOSSIBLE TO REPLACE. Scanning your valuable photographic memories will allow you to copy and preserve those memories forever.
Also, how can you better share your one original photograph of Great Grandma with each of your children and grandchildren. By copying all of your treasured photos onto DVDs, every person in your family can have a copy by simply giving them their own DVD. Copies are only $12.95 each when you order them with your original order.
Why let FAMILY PHOTO do all the work?
Hand scanning at home is certainly possible. But when you think about the HOURS it will take to scan just a hundred photos, you can see that letting Family Photo do the work is a real time-saver. At just $69.95 for up to 500 of your home photos, it just doesn’t make sense to do them yourself. Our High Speed professional scanning equipment will scan at 300 dpi for a high quality scan that will preserve your originals for generations.
How can other Family Members use these photos?
Order extra copies of you DVD when you place you original order and just send the extras to other family members for the ultimate in photo preservation! If anything happens to your original photos or even you DVD, the other family members will have their copy that can fully restore you photos. When you order a Family Photo Archive DVD, your photos are individually stored on the disk for access singly or in groups. Just select the photos you want and email or copy to another disk for sharing with your other family members.
How do I prepare for scanning?
1. Pick the photos, or just bring them ALL in. At just ten cents for any photos over 500, why not bring you entire family history?
2. Decide what order, if any, you want your photos to be, and place them in that order. Your photos will be scanned in the order you give them to us.
3. Orient them right-side up. We attempt to catch upside-down and sideways photos, but rotating them properly will make sure your photos are convenient to view when scanned.
4. Please identify rigid, stiff, undersized or oversized photos. These photos will not feed properly into our automatic scanner. They have to be hand scanned and added to the DVD individually, so there is an additional charge for their handling. If you want to include these special photos, the following additional charges will apply:
• Photos smaller than 2" x 3" are charged at 50 cents each.
• Photos larger than8.5"x11" are charged at $2.00 each.
• Stiff or rigid photos as well as photos in album pages are charged at $2.00 each.
How much will this Cost?
Our basic DVD for 500 photos is $69.95*. You will get your photos returned to you and a Data DVD for computer use with an image of each photo scanned at 300 dpi. That’s enough resolution to faithfully reproduce the photo at the same size as the original.
OR — you can order a DVD Slide Show of you photos. This DVD will show your photos on most recent DVD Players in a slide show format, one after the other. Your photos are scanned and prepared for the show, with soft fades between photos. Your DVD Slide show will provide hours of entertainment for your family for only $79.95*.
You can order BOTH the Data Archive DVD and a Slide show DVD for only $99.95* and enjoy both the advantages of individual photos for sharing and viewing your photos on your home TV set.
Extra Copies of you DVD’s are available at the time you order for only $12.95 each. Order extras for other family members- put one in your safety deposit box, for extra security for your photos.
*The basic charge is for up to 500 photographs that can be automatically scanned in our equipment. If you have more than 500 images, the rate is ten cents each per extra image. Additional charges apply for images that cannot be automatically scanned. These include photos smaller than 2" x 3" are charged at 50 cents each; photos larger than 8.5"x11" are charged at $2.00 each. Stiff or rigid photos as well as photos in album pages or frames are charged at $2.00 each.
